I have been in this area and with this surgery for 7 years. In that time I have had great care from this practise. I have recommended the practice to every friend/relative who has moved to the area or was looking for a new surgery, and all of them have joined Risedale surgery, and are very happy with the care. This is the best GP surgery that I've had, out of 8 different surgeries I have been with in other parts of the country. Well done on your great work.

The standard of treatment by the admin staff and medical staff is second to none, but the system is operating beyond it's capabilities. I needed to get an appointment for my wife so I telephoned but as it was the bank holiday (Boxing Day) there was no reply and therefore had to call NHS 111, this did not work; "Hello this is NHS 111, if you wish to continue PRESS 9" I pressed 9 and then got disconnected, I tried four times with the same result! I then called the NHS centre at Calisle, the phone rang about 6-8 times and somebody picked up the phone and then put it back down, a disgrace!! I then drove to FGH and managed to get an appointment later that day, result. but the whole NHS system is broken. these negative comments are no way an opinion of the surgery team.

'I want great care' well if you can 1. get past the misinformed receptionist 2. get an appointment to see a Doctor you should get great care. It's a pity that the GP's and their receptionist staff do not communicate with each other. The reception staff tell you one story and when you eventually see or speak to a GP you get a different story. Come on Risedale Surgery, your patients time is also valuable, not just the GP's.

Don't bother trying to phone for an appointment you will die of old age waiting for someone to answer the phone.
